Our History
Built in 1885, La Vittoriana has long been part of the story of Ocala.
According to records kept by the Historical Society of Ocala, the home was built by Louis Fox, a prominent businessman and treasurer of the Ocala Building and Loan Company. The Fox family played a role in forming the Silver Springs, Ocala and Gulf Railroad and helped establish Ocala’s first synagogue.
The house was later sold to Charles Grey, the rector for Grace Church. After changing a few more hands it was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Miller who converted it into Peter Dinkles, a happening restaurant from 1977-1994.
In 1994, the property was spared demolition and thoughtfully converted into offices, beginning a new life as a center for small business and entrepreneurship.
Though the house has weathered remodels, restoration efforts, and even fire, it still retains remarkable original character, including six original fireplaces crafted by C. B. Atkins Co..
A New Chapter
In 2022, the Auciello family became the next stewards of the house with a vision not simply to preserve it, but to help it live fully again.
Since then, the home has undergone continued improvements and thoughtful updates while honoring its historic character. Today, La Vittoriana is home to private offices, small businesses, community events, and gathering spaces designed to bring people together.
Our hope is that this house remains what it has long been, a place of enterprise, hospitality, and possibility, where new stories continue to unfold.
